The cornerstone of our work with families is individual family coaching. The goal of coaching is to bring out the best in each family member and to provide strategies for taking more effective action in life and at home.

What is "Coaching?"
Through individual work with parents and children, we explore patterns of interaction among family members. Understanding each member’s style of engagement with other people allows us to begin to identify those behaviors that promote — or block — success.

Unlike mental health counseling, coaching is not geared toward “diagnosing” an individual family member then treating him or her outside of the family context. We view the family as a system, where disharmony is the result of practiced patterns of ineffective interaction. Coaching is based on a model of supporting the strengths of each member, not focusing on weaknesses.

As a parent, you can gain the necessary parenting skills to help your family navigate the ups and downs of life. We'll work with you toward filling the gap between your expectations and the reality of your children’s behavior, which often makes it hard to relate in a loving, effective way.

Family coaching can help you reestablish the caring relationships that you long for in family life. Through this process, you will be guided toward a greater understanding of how each member of the family shows up in the world and what capacities and strengths are there waiting to be nourished.

Family Coaching Rates
The price for family coaching is $150.00 per hour. We typically schedule sessions for 1-1.5 hours for the initial meeting, with subsequent sessions ranging from 30 minutes to one hour. On occasion, we may hold subsequent sessions via telephone or home visit.
